The playground supports a wide range of activities
for different age groups. Intimate areas provide small-scale realms
for young children, while larger zones accommodate more boisterous
play and sports. A central gathering place invites parents, caregivers
and children to meet in an informal town square.
The project was part of a widespread replacement of playgrounds
across Toronto in 2001-2002. Design involved an intensive community
consulation process which included students, teachers, parents and
neighbours.
